Ballinasloe Social Services (BSS) is committed to respecting the privacy of all its stakeholders i.e. donors, volunteers, members, staff and clients. A privacy policy has been developed to ensure that all information pertaining to Ballinasloe Social Services stakeholders and anyone availing of our services online and in print will not be shared with third parties and that we are compliant with the rules set forth in the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003 together with the Data Protection Act 2018 which gives further effect under Irish law to the GDPR and the enactment of the Law Enforcement Directive [EC/2016/680]. Ocassionaly information may be sent to you regarding Ballinasloe Social Services activities etc but requests to be removed from mailing lists will be respected and acted on forthwith.

We value the trust of all individuals and organisations we interact with, and we recognise that maintaining this trust requires us to be transparent and accountable in upholding the confidentiality of the personal information that you choose to share with us. This privacy policy statement outlines the principle that Ballinasloe Social Services applies in order to ensure the integrity of your personal information.

Information collected and how it is used

Ballinasloe Social Services collects and maintains basic contact details, payment information for donations and/or event registrations, information concerning how you heard about Ballinasloe Social Services, additional information you share by way of comments and suggestions and your requests to receive updates. BSS does not collect any personal information from visitors to its website other than information that is knowingly and willingly given.

Information collected is stored on an in-house database that is in compliance with security regulations set forth in the Data Protection Acts 1988 and 2003.

BSS uses this information to understand your needs and requirements and to better engage with you. Specifically, we use your information to help you complete a transaction, communicate back to you and update you on BSS events. Credit cards are used only for donation or payment processing approved by you. We use the comments you offer to provide you with the information requested and we take seriously each recommendation as to how we might improve our communication.

BSS will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to other organisations. We assure you that the identity of all our donors will be kept confidential. Use of donor information will be limited to internal purposes and only to further the BSS mission.
