Funding We Receive

We receive part funding from the HSE for our older people’s services and from Tusla and Department of Children for our childcare services. Our pre-school also operates the ECCE and NCS programmes.

We also receive support from Mercy Sisters, National Lottery, Go 4 Life, Galway Sports Partnership / Sport Ireland, Galway County Council and GRETB, but we must raise the balance through fundraising, donations and service charges. Similar to many other organisations, fundraising is becoming increasingly more difficult.

Anyone who comes on board to fundraise on our behalf or wishes to make a donation (see make a donation tab) would be more than welcome.

We are a Company Limited by Guarantee (Company Reg No 170451) and we have signed up to the Charities Regulator Governance Code.

CFI RTE Comic Relief Fund

RTE & Comic Relief Logo

We were approved funding in 2020 under the CFI RTE Comic Relief fund under their Demand for Digital and Adapt and Respond strands.

This enabled us to upgrade our IT capabilities and deliver an Older Persons Enhancement project.

Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived (FEAD)

The FEAD (Fund for European Aid to the most Deprived) programme is an EU-wide programme to help people take their first steps out of poverty and social exclusion.

The programme provides dry foodstuff to families and individuals struggling to provide themselves with the basic necessities of life due to lack of financial resources.

The food items consist of basic, non-perishable foods which are easy to transport and store. This includes rice, pasta and pasta sauce, soups, canned fish, jam, tea, coffee, sugar, canned vegetables and breakfast cereals.

FEAD Ireland is by European and Irish exchequer funding. The Department of Social Protection is the managing authority of FEAD in Ireland, and also responsible for its implementation.

The programme has proved an invaluable resource to BALLINASLOE SOCIAL SERVICES for its clients across our senior support and childcare services.
