Meals On Wheels
Supporting Independent Living
Ballinasloe Meals on Wheels is a food service, which aims to support independent living through nutritional and social support. It enables older people and anyone who needs the service to maintain good health and independent living in their own communities by providing nutritious meals that are delivered to their homes.

Delivering Nutritious Meals
(Soup + Dinner = Only €5)
Approximately 12,000 hot nutritious meals are provided to recipients in Ballinasloe and the surrounding areas of Cappatagle, Kilconnell, Ahascragh and South Roscommon on an annual basis.
The service is supported by a loyal group of volunteers that assist in the delivery of meals on a rota basis. If you wish to become a Meals on Wheels volunteer, contact Kay at 087 2325163. The service is also supported by Fas, through the supply of a Fas worker in the kitchen.
Meals are also delivered by our Meals on Wheels Co-Ordinator, Kay Cunningham, in our Meals on Wheels van. Our delivery van was purchased with the kind support of a HSE National Lottery grant.
We are deeply indebted to Fr. John Garvey and the Parish of Kilclooney and Creagh for their continued support in the provision of kitchen facilities to us in the Social Centre.
European Fund For Aid
We take part in the FEAD (European Fund for Aid to the Most Deprived) programme by accessing food stuffs, which we use in the preparation of meals and in the distribution of food parcels. This food service can be availed of through the following methods:
