Community-based Family Support
Funded by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, our work is located within the community–based model of Family Support, providing universal and targeted support to Children, Families, Individuals, and the Community.
Our vision is that all children, families, individuals, and communities can actively participate and are included in a society that is equal, fair, inclusive and non-discriminatory and which will enable their optimal well-being and life outcomes.
About Our Service
- aims to combat disadvantage, improve the functioning of the family unit, and build resilience in the wider community by supporting individuals, groups and communities.
- delivers universal and targeted supports to children, families, individuals and the community with a strong focus on prevention and early intervention.
- community development is central to all aspects our work and ethos.
- works in a needs led approach, supporting local people to identify local challenges and develop local responses.
- operates in a drop-in, accessible, open-door model, with a focus on poverty, social inclusion and the development opportunities that address the needs of families and the wider community.

Ballinasloe FCRC currently provides the following activities:
- intensive support for families, with the structured support for children and practical support for parents & guardians
- a drop-in information, advice, advocacy and signposting service
- supported referrals to mainstream and specialist services
- information provision and signposting concerning the range of services available locally and advice on accessing rights and entitlements
- personal development programmes and opportunities
- outreach for required services not available locally including Citizens Information Service (C.I.S.), Money Advice & Budgeting Service (M.A.B.S.), Local Authority Integration Team (LAIT), Health Liaison, HSE Ukrainian response and Teen Parent Support Programme.
