The pupils and teachers of Creagh National School have raised over €4,700 from the sale of St. Brigid’s crosses in aid of Ballinasloe Social Services. Leading up to St. Brigid’s Day on Feb 1st, the pupils worked furiously, under the supervision of their teachers, headed by Regina Power, to make enough crosses to cater for the demand.

The businesses of Ballinasloe and beyond kindly allowed the selling of the crosses in their premises and by St. Brigid’s Day, the phenominal amount of €4,701.23 was raised.  The amount was presented to Ballinasloe Social Services at the school’s assembly shortly afterwards.

Gratitude is extended from Social Services to the school, its pupils and parents, the teachers, the local businesses and the wider community for the support this project received.
